On this page, you can register to the Cape Exchange internship service. The registration is completely free. By simply leaving your contact details, and by providing information about your organization, you will be registered and will be contacted once we believe we have found the perfect match.

Which service does Cape Exchange provide?

Every semester, Cape Exchange provides an internship for dozens of international Bachelor, and University degree students, who dream of coming to Cape Town and experience a 5 month internship abroad. For those students, Cape Exchange seeks a suitable internship, provides a pleasurable accommodation, gives them all the knowledge to come well prepared to Cape Town and assists with the application of their student visa.

For our partners, we make sure that we provide enthusiastic, well-educated students, which will have an added value to your organization. Based on your wishes, and the student’s wishes, we will go out and search for the perfect match. Once we believe we found the perfect match, we will introduce you to each other, and will take care of all the paper work once we come to an agreement. For you, as a partner, this means you will have a well-educated student at your disposal for a period of 5 months.

Additional information:

• Our interns typically need to do an internship for a period of 5 months. During this time they will have to work full-time within your organization.
• During their internship., it is important that they will have an internship supervisor within your organization. The internship supervisor guides them throughout their internship, and is there to help in case there are questions.
• Depending on the study, it can be that the intern will need to do a research while he or she is working at your organization. The subject of the research, is normally decided based on the organizations wishes.
• You are not allowed to pay the intern. By South African law, it is forbidden to pay an international intern.

What do we need from our partners?

We are looking for partners that are open for a long-term cooperative and mutual beneficial relationship. To become a partner, you”ll have to be open and willing to guide a young adult in your organization. So a supervisor that can take his/her time for the intern is key. Furthermore it is important that the working activities of the student match with the criteria of their study. This means that their working activities should be bachelor and/or university degree, dependent on the students study.

The costs of our service

For you, as a partner, our service is completely free of any costs. Our goal is to provide a best as possible experience for our students, having a suitable internship is a big part of that. We do not want money to get in the way of what we blieve, can be a great experience for both our students, and our partners. It is also forbidden by law to pay an international intern. Having an agreement where the intern will receive a monthly paycheck, will result in a rejection of their student visa.

• Company characteristics (educational attainment, working culture, working place etc.)
